Fantastic result for Multiflight–sponsored racing star

Jon Lancaster, the 18–year–old racing driver from Calverley, Leeds, who Multiflight is sponsoring, celebrated a magnificent run of race wins in this year's Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series and a second place on the championship podium.

The Leeds teenager has stormed the generally more experienced Formula Renault Eurocup field and has his eyes set on moving up to Formula Three next year.

Congratulations Adrian!

Congratulations go to Adrian Woodhead who has joined Ryan Air as a pilot.

Instead of buying a car Adrian chose to learn to fly and used to catch the bus from Halifax to Multiflight. After University he joined us as a Flight Instructor. We all wish him well for the future.

Major refurbishment complete

The Multiflight Flight Training Centre offers one of the finest facilities of its kind in the country after being transformed in a major refurbishment scheme.

The Centre has been completely refurbished to create a striking, contemporary new look and offers state–of–the–art facilities.

This includes a new reception area with seating; a flight planning and briefing area; purpose–built briefing rooms; a new café bar, and a purpose–built simulator suite. There is also now an onsite CAA–approved medical examiner, Dr Gerald Benjamin, and an onsite CAA–approved Radio Telephony Examiner Malcolm Dobson, within the new development.

“The refurbishment of the Centre has created one of the best facilities for flight training in this country and we are delighted with the result and the reactions of people using and visiting the facility,” said Mike McKenzie, Multiflight Flight Training Centre Manager.

Many thanks go to Dave, Mark, Emma and the team for all their hard work and efforts in transforming the Centre. We are sure you will all agree the place looks fantastic! Well done!

Children in Need

Congratulations to Multiflight's FBO team for raising £87.09 for Children in Need–and thanks to everyone who supported the fundraising.

Kath Harrison was the lucky winner of the Pamper Bag.

Bowled over!

A bowling night for Multiflight staff proved a great success with Dave Brear crowned the bowling champion.

Linda Jackson won the highest game individual score with a mighty 178 points, but Dave was the overall winner.

A curry preceded the bowling competition and everyone had a great time. Thanks to organiser Andy Coe.

Welcome

The Flight Training Centre welcomes four new members of staff onboard.

PPL Instructors Gizelle Armstrong and Dennis Barber; Helicopter Instructor Yannis Giannopoulos, and Commercial and IR Instructor Roger Osborn, have joined the team.

Multiflight Ski 2008

Join us in March for a week of skiing in Italy.

We are off to the bustling Italian resort of Canazei and are once again traveling with John Bedford from Max Ski.

John will be looking after us for the duration of the trip, from March 8th to 15th, offering excellent value for money, support and leadership with a great team spirit.

Log on to John's website www.maxski.net for details of our trip and the many others he has to offer. He certainly has our recommendation!

Thanks

Many thanks to all who supported the NATS ATC Presentation in October.

Over 50 people attended and Chris and John were delighted with the turnout, together with the facilities that Multiflight provided and the free pie and peas!

Engineering News

The Engineering Department is being kept busy. Some of the most recent projects include:

  • Far East Dauphin's

As an approved maintenance facility for CHC Helicopters, two AS365N2 Dauphin helicopters, being operated in Sudan, were sent to us for maintenance and conversion on to the Dutch register in preparation for re–sale. Both aircraft underwent extensive maintenance in order for them to be released back to service.

Multiflight engineers completed all the work within the stipulated contract time, and the aircraft successfully completed the required flight testing programme. Both helicopters have now been dismantled and shipped out to Malaysia and Singapore on 747 freighters to their new owners: Eurocopter South East Asia.

  • AS355F2 Sale

G–DBOK (ex N620LH ) has been put on the GB register and has been sold to a new owner. All the work necessary to convert the aircraft and obtain its C of A was carried out in–house by Multiflight.

  • New AS355

New AS355F2 added to our Charter Fleet. Following various maintenance inspections and avionic upgrades at Multiflight we are pleased to retain the use and the maintenance contract for this aircraft. G–ECOU has had a complete internal and external re trim.

  • Cirrus Inspection

As an authorised Cirrus service centre, the first annual inspection has been carried out on a Cirrus SR22 aircraft. Multiflight technicians completed the task on time but did require support from Cirrus regards some undercarriage related defects found during the inspection. These problems were rectified and the aircraft returned to service.

Cessna sale

Multiflight sells Cessna 182T to a Hungarian company based in Budapest.

Two Hungarian pilots collected the aircraft from Multiflight and it took them nine hours to fly the plane back to Budapest.

The company is absolutely delighted with the aircraft and has since reported that it is the most beautiful Cessna in Hungary!

The aircraft is to be modified for aerial surveillance by way of day and night camera system.
