At the Multiflight Flight Training Centre at Leeds Bradford International Airport, Yeadon, West Yorkshire, the sky really is the limit when it comes to learning to fly.
We offer a full range of courses and operate our own fleet of aeroplanes and helicopters. The courses we run cover all aspects of flight training, taking you from your Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) to your Air Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL). So whether you want to learn to fly for pleasure, or your aim is to become a professional airline pilot, the Multiflight flying school can help you fulfil your dream.
Come fly with us!
The fixed wing courses we run include:
this licence is necessary in order to fly light aircraft. There are two different types of PPL available: The National Private Pilot's Licence (NPPL) and the Joint Aviation Authority Private Pilot's Licence (JAA PPL).
This licence requires a minimum of 45 flying training hours and once achieved allows the licence holder to fly in the majority of European states as well as in many other countries.
Those pilots who are unable to successfully pass a Class 2 medical but gain a Declaration of Medical Fitness from their GP can undertake the NPPL. The syllabus is identical to the ‘full’ PPL, however once gained has fewer privileges.
These include Night Rating (NR), which allows you to fly during official night; Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) Rating, which allows you to pilot an aircraft in slightly worse conditions than the PPL, and Multiengine Piston (MEP) Rating, which allows you to fly multiengine (twin) aircraft
The Ab-Initio Air Transport Pilot's Licence Course takes the potential professional pilot who has no flying experience through all the training needed to get their Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL), Instrument Rating (IR) with Air Transport Pilot's Licence theoretical knowledge credits within 15 months
After passing your PPL you are ready to start your professional training towards your Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL). This is when you start Ground School.
This is a key part of any flight training programme and Multiflight provides a first class Ground School training facility. Our training partner is Bristol Ground School.
You may decide that you want to take your professional pilot's licence and you can do that here at Multiflight. It is a major undertaking, but the rewards can be great.
The Multi Engine Piston Rating allows you to operate aircraft which have more than 1 engine. It is an additional rating which extends the privileges of either a Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) or Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) holder.
This allows the combination of the Commercial Pilot's Licence with the Multi Engine Piston Rating, allowing a saving in both time and financial outlay.
The Instrument Rating (IR) upgrade to the Private Pilot's Licence allows the holder to fly in considerably worse weather and the most regulated airspace in the country.
This rating allows you to fly aircraft in some of the worst weather conditions and in some of the world's busiest airspace.
An Instrument Rating for aeroplanes is valid for 12 months and must then be renewed.
To give flying instruction to students you will need a Flight Instructor qualification.
This Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved course will contribute significantly to your aviation safety.
Taking the modular route to a commercial pilot's licence is the most practical and cost-effective way for the majority of people. It involves taking a series of modules.
This is a vital part of flight training and the necessity of using correct, precise standard RT techniques and phraseology cannot be stressed too much.
The helicopter courses we run include:
The professional licence enabling the holder to work as a helicopter pilot.
The PPL (H) allows you to fly a helicopter for personal use – business or pleasure.
Anyone applying for a PPL (H) is required to pass a number of theoretical knowledge exams.
Allows you to fly your helicopter at night.
As a TRTO Multiflight offers type ratings on a number of helicopters, including R22, R44, B206, AS355, AS365, H169 and H333.
